*Caution: If BitLocker is not temporarily disabled before the BIOS update, the system will not recognize the BitLocker key upon the next reboot. In this case, users will be prompted to enter the BitLocker recovery key to proceed.



Before Starting...



Find & Save the BitLocker recovery key for your system by logging into your Microsoft account and following the instructions to find your system BitLocker recovery key.



*Note:  1. If the BitLocker recovery key is unknown, it may lead to data loss or an unnecessary operating system reinstallation.



              2. BitLocker is a Microsoft encryption security product, MSI neither stores nor has the ability to provide a recovery key. MSI cannot circumvent the Microsoft BitLocker Recovery key process.



 



To avoid repeatedly entering the BitLocker recovery key, follow the steps below to suspend the BitLocker Protection temporarily.



1. Open [Control Panel]

2. Select [System and Security > BitLocker Driver Encryption > Suspend protection].



 



3. Select [Yes]. 



 



4. Start the BIOS update (refer to the step by step guide)



5. Wait until the BIOS update complete and the system restart automatically.



6. Enter the BitLocker Setup page to resume the BitLocker Protection again.



 



7. Open [Control Panel]

8. Select [System and Security > BitLocker Driver Encryption > Resume protection].
